DNS, or Domain Name System, is the system that directs internet traffic from your domain (e.g., company.com) to the IP address where your website, email, and other online services are hosted.

To update and manage your site’s DNS records, your website developer will need access to your domain settings. These settings are usually found in the account where your domain was registered, though sometimes they may be managed by a third-party provider.
